DLA Piper advises Playmaker Capital Inc. in connection with its IPO

DLA Piper advised Playmaker Capital Inc. in connection with its initial public offering in Canada. Playmaker is one of the top digital sports media groups focused on Latin America and the US markets and reaches more than 50 million unique users and 300 million social users each month.

DLA Piper assisted Playmaker with the disclosure of information in connection with its operations in emerging markets and provided an overview of the legal framework applicable to network services and media distribution in the Latin American countries where Playmaker conducts its business operations. The latter involved coordination among the following DLA Piper member firms in the jurisdictions involved: DLA Piper Martínez Beltrán in Colombia, Campos Mello Advogados in Brazil, DLA Piper Gallastegui y Lozano in Mexico and DLA Piper Chile.

The DLA Piper team was led by DLA Piper Argentina partners Ariel Portnoy and Alejandro Noblia (both of Buenos Aires). In addition to Portnoy and Noblia, partners María Claudia Martínez Beltrán (Colombia), Luiz Augusto Osorio (Brazil), Jorge Benejam and Eduardo J. Gallastegui Armella (both of Mexico) and Felipe Bahamondez (Chile) and their respective teams also participated in the transaction.
