DLA Piper appoints new funds specialist to its London Corporate practice

DLA Piper has this week appointed Kate Binedell as partner to its Corporate practice. She joins from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner where she was made a partner in its Investment Management team in 2010.

Kate’s practice is focused on the structuring, formation, operation and restructuring of real estate private investment funds and other structured real estate investment vehicles. She advises investment managers and a range of UK and international investors on open and closed ended real estate funds, co-investments, club deals, joint ventures, segregated mandates and other corporate real estate transactions. Kate is experienced in both onshore and offshore (Jersey/Guernsey, Luxembourg and Cayman) investment vehicles, including limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, unit trusts and corporate structures including, more recently, JV REITs.

“Kate’s appointment is part of our strategy to enhance our International Funds capability, an area we consider to offer significant opportunity in the future. Our capabilities were already enhanced by the appointment of Jonny Powling from Addleshaw Goddard last year and Kate’s diverse and deep experience will add further strength to this, particularly in the Real Estate funds space. We are delighted to have Kate on board and look forward to her contribution to the firm.”
