DLA Piper is expanding its Corporate practice with the addition of partners Stephanie Yarbrough and Brendan Staley. Yarbrough will be based in the firm’s New York office, and Staley will be based in the Washington, DC office.
Yarbrough’s practice focuses on advising companies seeking to expand or relocate in the United States. She works with new and expanding businesses in identifying and negotiating all aspects of a discretionary incentive package, advocating before the proper governmental entities during all phases of the incentive approval process. She has extensive experience advising companies across a wide range of matters, including corporate headquarters, manufacturing, data centers, distribution, and large office deals. Yarbrough also has experience in the aviation, automotive, and life sciences sectors.
Staley represents domestic and international companies seeking to expand or relocate in the US. He frequently advises companies in connection with the development of new corporate headquarters, manufacturing and distribution facilities, data centers, and large office projects. He also represents real estate developers in connection with the development of mixed-use economic development projects and the structuring of special tax districts and tax increment financings to support these projects.
“Stephanie and Brendan will broaden our capabilities and provide visibility into transactional and counseling opportunities early in the decision-making life cycle. We are excited to support them as they continue to grow their practices and collaborate among our corporate, tax, real estate, intellectual property, employment, and international trade teams,” said Andrew Gilbert, US Chair of the Corporate practice.
“Stephanie is a highly acclaimed corporate practitioner with a proven business development track record, supporting companies in securing incentives and navigating governmental relationships,” said Sidney Burke, Co-Managing Partner of the New York office. “Her experience will be an asset to existing and new clients, and we are pleased to welcome her to the firm.”
“Brendan’s experience in representing clients before state and local governments on complex economic development and infrastructure projects, as well as his background in advising governmental entities, will be an immediate asset to our clients in the DC area,” said William Minor, Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office.
