Amanda Pilkington appointed Sheffield Office Managing Partner

Global law firm DLA Piper today announces the appointment of Amanda Pilkington as Office Managing Partner (OMP) of the firm's Sheffield office, effective 1 November 2025. Amanda succeeds Richard Norman, as he steps down from his four-year tenure.

Joining the firm in 2005, Amanda, a Technology & Sourcing lawyer, has built a successful practice advising a broad range of clients across multiple sectors on their procurement and sourcing matters.

Richard will now focus on his roles as co-lead of the International Technology Disputes team, as partner sponsor of our What In-house Lawyers Need programme, which was recognised by the Financial Times' Innovative Lawyers programme, and as co-lead of the firm's UK Litigation and Arbitration team. During his tenure as OMP, Richard led and guided the office through the COVID-19 pandemic and the move to the firm's new office in 2024.

Andrew Dyson, UK Country Managing Partner, DLA Piper, said: "Richard has provided successful and thoughtful leadership to our Sheffield office over the past four years, guiding our people through a period of significant change, including the challenges of the pandemic, and more recently the move to our new office in the city. As Amanda steps into the role, I am confident she will build on this strong foundation and continue to enhance our UK presence, and support clients to benefit from the power of our global platform."

Amanda Pilkington, Sheffield Office Managing Partner, DLA Piper, added: "During Richard's tenure, he has focused on leading from the front, and succeeding him will be no mean feat. I'd like to thank my fellow partners for placing their trust in me and thank Richard for his guidance during the transition period."
