Kelly Mai represents automobile, software, technology, and telecommunications clients in patent and trade secret matters before federal district courts, as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Kelly's interest in intellectual property law was shaped early through exposure to the patent examination process, which inspired her to pursue a career focused on innovation and advocacy. She values hands‑on work with cutting‑edge technology matters and collaboration with experienced legal teams to deliver practical, effective solutions for clients.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Kelly interned for the Honorable Raymond T. Chen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Honorable Paul G. Levenson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Kelly earned her law degree from Boston College Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the Boston College Journal and Forum of Intellectual Property and Technology. She was also a part of the Boston College Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team, qualifying to compete at the 2025 White & Case Jessup International Rounds.
