Sal Tamburo has been practicing in the field of patent law for more than 27 years and focuses his practice on all aspects of patent litigation, with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical, and software-related technologies. His technical background (BS, Electrical Engineering) makes Sal uniquely suited to handle cases and counsel clients on patent issues in these areas. His practice also embraces a wide range of technologies, including Wi-Fi and Cellular communications systems and products, high performance computing products and systems, semiconductor products and fabrication, graphical user interface technologies, DRAM and NAND memory devices, network security systems, polymer devices, solar powered systems and components, power distribution systems, cache memory systems, armored military vehicles, and medical devices, among others.
Sal has extensive jury trial experience and specializes in taking complex technologies and translating them so that lay juries not only understand them, but also understand why his clients should win. Sal has represented clients in various US district courts, the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission and the US Supreme Court. Sal has been recognized by IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals, which noted Sal “often facilitates early wins.”
As a registered patent attorney, Sal has also successfully represented clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the US Patent and Trademark Office in both inter partes reviews and reexaminations.
