John Zappia represents a diverse array of multinational clients, with a focus on corporate reorganizations and restructurings. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, semiconductors, energy, health and biosciences, manufacturing, aerospace and automation.

He advises clients on a broad spectrum of transactional matters, including carve-outs, spin-offs, mergers and acquisitions, cash repatriation planning, and entity rationalization. John also counsels on intercompany transactions, corporate governance and general corporate affairs.

Prior Experience

Before joining DLA Piper, John was an associate at two prominent international law firms, where he advised private equity sponsors, strategic investors, and portfolio companies on a broad range of M&A transactions. 

He represented clients across diverse industries, including renewable energy, conventional energy, energy transition and infrastructure.

In addition to his M&A work, John counseled clients on a variety of commercial matters, including the drafting and negotiation of offtake, supply, vendor and other commercial agreements.
