DLA Piper advises Michelin in partial victory before EU General Court

DLA Piper advised Michelin in securing a partial victory before the EU General Court concerning dawn raids carried out by the European Commission in January 2024. The raids were part of an investigation into suspected concerted practices in the tyre sector.

In its 9 July 2025 ruling, the General Court upheld part of Michelin’s challenge. It found that the Commission lacked sufficiently serious indications to justify the inspection for part of the period under investigation.

The DLA Piper team was led by Paris-based Partner Edouard Sarrazin, Counsels Celine Espesson and Julie Brousseau and Associate Quitterie Stein. DLA Piper acted as co-counsel in the proceedings alongside Latham & Watkins with Jacques-Philippe Gunther and his team.
