Life Sciences News in Poland – June 2026
June 2026 brought further significant changes and legislative initiatives in the Life Sciences sector. These developments covered, among others, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical professions, food, and medical devices. The past month also saw the publication of new draft laws and regulations, as well as a number of initiatives undertaken by public institutions. These changes may have a substantial impact on businesses, healthcare providers, and other market participants.
In the latest DLA Piper Poland newsletter, Andrzej Balicki, Ph.D., Jolanta Dąbrowicz, and Patrycja Rzepecka discuss, among other topics:
- new obligations for pharmacies resulting from the entry into force of the updated “Medicinal Products Prepared in Pharmacies” monograph, as well as changes to the rules for notifying temporary replacements of the Responsible Person in pharmaceutical wholesalers;
- a draft amendment to the Reimbursement Act introducing simplifications for the pharmaceutical market, changes related to compounded medicines, and the further development of tools supporting pharmaceutical policy;
- significant changes in the healthcare system, including new rules for the organisation of hospital services, the expansion of the central electronic registration system, and EU initiatives supporting biotechnology innovation;
- new regulations concerning medical professions, including the extension of reporting requirements related to remuneration data for medical personnel;
- proposed changes in the food sector, including amendments to the sugar tax rules, new regulations on the commercial quality of food products, organic food, and measures strengthening farmers’ position in the supply chain;
- a draft amendment concerning medical devices, expanding the list of healthcare professionals authorised to issue orders for selected medical devices.
