Amanda McCaffrey

Amanda McCaffrey is International Pro Bono Counsel at New Perimeter, DLA Piper’s global nonprofit affiliate that provides long-term pro bono legal assistance to promote access to justice and strengthen institutions to support a fairer, more sustainable, and prosperous world.

Amanda develops and manages projects through which DLA Piper lawyers partner with civil society organizations, governments, and academic and multilateral institutions to deliver pro bono services around the world. Drawing on her experience working with international tribunals, intergovernmental bodies, and human rights organizations, Amanda supports projects focusing on international climate negotiations, legal education, access to justice, and women’s rights.

Before joining New Perimeter full-time, Amanda practiced in DLA Piper’s environmental and ESG litigation and regulatory compliance groups, advising clients on sustainability goal-setting, climate reporting, policies and disclosures related to business and human rights, compliance and disputes related to recycling and circular economy programs, and other matters. As an associate, Amanda also represented a wide range of pro bono clients, including advising a developing country in multilateral negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and representing clients in immigration proceedings, with a special focus on immigration relief for Afghan women judges and their family members.

Amanda is an alumna of the firm’s Krantz Fellowship program, which allowed her to devote her first year of practice to pro bono service. She sits on DLA Piper’s Pro Bono Committees for the Americas and for the firm’s Northern California offices.
