Insuring AI: Navigating the new coverage battleground
Friday, May 1, 2026
As artificial intelligence (AI) gains an ever-increasing toehold within business operations, courts, regulators, and plaintiffs continue to test the ways AI-related harms translate into litigation exposure and whether or how existing insurance products respond to those claims.
This webinar examined how AI-related claims are challenging insurers’ ability to assess, underwrite, and price risk, focusing on how emerging liability theories and dispute trends are testing the fit of traditional coverage and exposing industry specific vulnerabilities. DLA Piper lawyers unpacked how these developments are reshaping underwriting, claims handling, and coverage disputes in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
This session provided a high level foundation for understanding AI-related insurance risk. We plan to follow this program with a three-part miniseries that will explore these themes in greater depth, focusing on practical takeaways for navigating evolving insurance coverage considerations with respect to AI-based disputes.
