White House to unveil landmark Executive Order setting foundations for future AI regulation in the US

Today the White House announced that it will unveil its long anticipated Executive Order (EO) laying the foundations for the future regulation of artificial intelligence (AI).

Based on a copy of the initial 111-page draft, the Order will be far-reaching and will cover a range of topics tackling the standards and rules of AI governance across the federal government, including but not limited to AI testing and evaluation standards, red-teaming, data privacy, discrimination, bias, compute thresholds, content authenticity, immigration, federal procurement, and national security.

DLA Piper’s comprehensive analysis of the Order will be forthcoming on release.
