Diego Bilbao focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology. He has advised national and international clients in the identification, management, and protection of trademarks, patents, domain names, trade secrets, software, and copyrights in Chile and abroad.
He collaborates with clients in the planning and development of brands and technologies with a strategic focus on rapid protection and valuation of their commercial identity. Additionally, he provides guidance to clients' research and development (R&D) areas for anticipated and global protection of their innovations and value creation.
Furthermore, he offers advice on the exploitation of intellectual property assets, including transactions, transfer and assignment contracts, due diligence, coexistence agreements, licensing, and franchises.
He has extensive experience in defending and enforcing intellectual property rights, including trademark, patents, copyrights and trade secrets infringement cases, domain name revocations, and litigation on unfair competition acts, as well as the development of legal strategies in contentious matters before the Chilean Trademark and Patent Office.
