
DLA Piper advises Capvis on the acquisition of a majority stake in Schurter Group
DLA Piper has advised Swiss investor Capvis on a majority investment in Lucerne-based Schurter Holding AG and its worldwide subsidiaries (Schurter Group). Capvis will support Schurter Group's management team in the further development of the group's business, while the founding family and current owners will retain an interest in Schurter Group. The transaction is expected to be completed in spring 2023, following the necessary regulatory approval processes.
Schurter Group is a leading developer and manufacturer of electronic components for clean and safe low voltage power supply. The group operates in 17 countries through 20 subsidiaries and generated sales of approx. CHF 330 million in the 2022 financial year.
Swiss private equity investor Capvis specialises in majority investments in leading mid-sized companies in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy. Since 1990, Capvis has completed 62 transactions with a total invested capital of approx. EUR 4 billion.
Capvis relied on Niederer Kraft Frey in Switzerland and DLA Piper for the transaction. DLA Piper was responsible for providing comprehensive advice and performing due diligence in more than 15 jurisdictions, various transaction aspects and all regulatory aspects of the transaction, including antitrust clearances and issues relating to investment control requirements in various jurisdictions involved.
