David Riley represents clients in a variety of industries in bankruptcy courts throughout the US. David's clients are corporate debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, equity holders, purchasers and other stakeholders in a wide range of restructuring matters, including cases under chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code, out-of-court workouts, negotiations and sales. David is regularly called on to advise on transactional and litigation matters where one or more parties is or may become financially distressed.

  • Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and its affiliates as debtors in chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings
  • NextPoint Financial Inc. and its subsidiaries Liberty Tax and Community Tax as debtors in Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings and foreign representative in chapter 15 cases
  • Art Supply Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a MacPhersons in out of court corporate transactions
  • Histogen Inc. as debtor in chapter 11 proceedings
  • Amsterdam House Continuing Care Retirement Community d/b.a The Harborside in its chapter 11 case in the Eastern District of New York
  • Valeritas Holdings, Inc. and its affiliates in their chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, the first chapter 11 cases in the country to attribute COVID-19 as one of the factors leading to the filing
