DLA Piper partner John Gibson named to the Daily Journal ’s 2021 Top Antitrust Lawyers list

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partner John Gibson was named to the Daily Journal’s 2021 Top Antitrust Lawyers list honoring the top attorneys across the state of California who have made significant contributions in antitrust law.

The publication noted several of Gibson’s recent achievements, including winning summary judgment for a healthcare company in federal antitrust litigation over pricing policies and successfully arguing a motion to transfer multiple class actions filed around the US to the Northern District of California for a Silicon Valley technology company. The article also references Gibson’s representation of the Los Angeles Clippers. He was the lead counsel for the Clippers and part of a broader trial team involved in winning court approval for their split with and sale from then-equity holder Donald T. Sterling to the current equity holder, Steve Ballmer.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as one of the top antitrust lawyers. I’ve been blessed to work with fantastic colleagues and clients alike over the course of my career; their support of and trust in me has made all the difference,” Gibson said. “DLA Piper has provided me with access to a truly global platform that enables me to help serve innovative companies across a wide range of industries.”

Gibson focuses his practice on antitrust and other complex litigation, including class action and multi-district litigation. He has won high-profile trials and cases in California and around the nation for healthcare and high-tech companies, as well as professional sports teams and pro bono clients seeking social justice.
