DLA Piper advises DHL on sale of carbon neutral logistics portfolio in European key markets

DLA Piper has advised DHL on the sale of a real estate portfolio of carbon neutral warehouses across six European tier one markets. The 14 units, totaling 400,000 sqm and constructed across 10 development sites, are located across major logistics markets in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Poland. All buildings will have modern technical specifications, and will meet key sustainability criteria such as BREEAM Excellent and EPC A, comply with EU taxonomy and undergo a Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) assessment.

A first tranche of the warehouse portfolio comprising five facilities covering a total of 200,000 sqm was already sold to Allianz Real Estate. These assets located in the Netherlands, Poland and Finland will be completed between the first quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. After completion, DHL Supply Chain will lease at least 85 percent of the facilities on a long-term basis.
