DLA Piper's John Samuel Gibson named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers

John Samuel Gibson, Co-Chair of DLA Piper’s US Business and Commercial Litigation practice, has been inducted into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers.

Founded in 1950, the College selects exceptional first-chair trial lawyers in the US and Canada who have mastered the art of trial advocacy. It extends fellowship by invitation only after a rigorous vetting process that evaluates candidates’ trial excellence, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality.

For more than 35 years, Gibson has represented some of the world’s top companies, professional sports teams, and celebrities, as well as a variety of pro bono clients. He has led clients to company-saving trial victories, including affirmative litigation jury verdicts, in multiple industries. His cases involve contracts, AI, technology, and competition, and include business and consumer class actions and multi-district litigation.

“It is an extraordinary blessing to be invited into the College,” said Gibson. “I’m humbled that my career qualifies me to join such an esteemed group of highly effective trial colleagues. And I am deeply committed to the College’s mission of protecting the rule of law and relentlessly pursuing justice and excellence in the courtroom.”

In addition to Gibson, other DLA Piper attorneys who are Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers include Lyn Pruitt, Kenneth Murphy, Sonia Torres, and James Brogan.
