Value for Money (VfM) is now a live supervisory issue across European insurance markets.

It is actively shaping how products are designed, priced and distributed – and how regulators assess outcomes, particularly in life insurance, IBIPs and bancassurance.

We have brought together insight from sixteen European jurisdictions in The European Value for Money Guide. The guide shows how Value for Money is being applied on the ground across both life and non‑life insurance, and where supervisory approaches are aligning or diverging.

The guide looks at how VfM is being applied in practice, with a focus on:

  • regulatory assessment of cost and benefit,
  • increased scrutiny of product governance and distribution economics, and
  • emerging conduct and governance risks across markets.

We have designed this to help you focus on what regulators are really looking at, and what this means for existing arrangements, as well as future product, distribution and commercial decisions.
