Joaquín is a partner in the Litigation and Regulatory practice, where he leads the EU and Competition group and the foreign investments team. He also heads the firm’s Technology sector and co-heads the Sustainability & ESG practices in Spain.

With a deep understanding of tech and regulatory landscapes, Joaquín regularly advises on corporate acquisitions, foreign investments, divestment procedures and strategic agreements between companies.

  • Advising Vodafone on the EUR7.2bn acquisition of Spanish operator ONO.
  • Advising CVC Capital Partners on the acquisition of Deoleo, the world's largest oil producer.
  • Advising QuironSalud on its decade-long acquisition process to consolidate their current standing as the largest Spanish private healthcare operator.
  • Advising Oaktree Capital Management on the 2-to-1 merger of Panrico and Bimbo.
  • Advising the UK Government (UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills) on State aid in the creation of the UK Green Investment Bank.
