DLA Piper advises Chord Music Partners in additional investment from Searchlight Capital
DLA Piper advised Chord Music Partners, a major independent music intellectual property platform and acquisition vehicle, in a strategic investment from funds advised by Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P., a leading global private investment firm.
Building on Searchlight’s August 2025 investment, the additional capital will support the growth of Chord’s recorded music and publishing catalogs, as well as its capacity to source and complete future acquisitions.
“We love working with our outstanding team at DLA Piper. We appreciate the support as we continue to grow our music rights platform,” said Sam Hendel, Founder, Chord Music Partners.
“Chord has built a highly differentiated platform in the music IP market, and this investment reflects the strength of its long-term strategy and execution,” said Adam Brenner, the DLA Piper Partner who co-led the deal team. “We are proud to have supported Chord on a transaction that further positions the company for sustained growth and continued success in acquiring and scaling premier music assets.”
Brenner (New York) co-led the deal team with Partners Katherine McCullough (Washington, DC) and Jason Juall (Atlanta), and included Associates Paul Nolle (Short Hills), Matt Kwon (New York), and David Kurlander (Philadelphia).
With more than 1,000 corporate lawyers globally, DLA Piper helps clients execute complex transactions seamlessly while supporting clients across all stages of development. The firm has been rated number one in global M&A volume for 16 consecutive years by Mergermarket and ranked number one in VC, PE, and M&A in combined global deal volume by PitchBook.
