DLA Piper guides Trump Media & Technology Group in merger with TAE Technologies valued at more than US$6 billion

DLA Piper represented Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. in a landmark merger with fusion power company TAE Technologies valued at more than US$6 billion. The all-stock transaction is expected to create one of the world’s first publicly traded fusion companies.

The combined company plans to site and begin construction on the world’s first utility-scale fusion power plant (50 MWe) next year, subject to required approvals. Additional fusion power plants are planned and expected to be 350–500 MWe.

Upon closing, shareholders of each company will own approximately 50 percent of the combined company on a fully diluted equity basis. The DLA Piper team included Partners Viktor Sapezhnikov (New York), Brian Wohlberg (Chicago), and Caryn Schechtman (New York).
