Stephanie O'Byrne and Jeff Castellano join DLA Piper's Patent Litigation Practice in Wilmington

DLA Piper announced today that Stephanie O’Byrne and Jeff Castellano have joined the firm’s Patent Litigation practice as Of Counsel in the firm’s Wilmington office, helping to build upon DLA Piper’s deep experience and technical depth in one of the most active patent litigation jurisdictions in the country.

The addition of Ms. O’Byrne and Mr. Castellano to an experienced and trial-ready Wilmington team demonstrates DLA Piper’s commitment to growing and maintaining a full-service patent litigation practice in Delaware. DLA Piper’s Wilmington office offers years of experience with the Delaware bench and access to top-notch patent litigators in Delaware and around the country.

Stephanie has nearly 20 years of intellectual property litigation experience in the District of Delaware. From 2006 to 2012, she served as the law clerk to the Hon. Sue L. Robinson of the Delaware federal court, helping to handle more than 450 patent cases across the technology spectrum and drafting dozens of opinions for the Court. Since then, Stephanie has litigated a wide range of patent disputes in pharmaceuticals, genetic technology, medical devices, and consumer electronics. She holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and is a member of the Patent Bar. Jeff has litigated patent cases in Delaware as lead counsel for more than 15 years, and has extensive experience in all phases of litigation. He also has handled patent disputes in other patent litigation hotbeds, including the Northern District of California, the Eastern District of Texas, the PTAB, and the ITC. Jeff’s experience covers dozens of technological areas, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, apparel, biotech, medical devices, consumer electronics, telecom, and software. Jeff also is a longstanding member of the executive committee of the Federal Bar Association’s Delaware Chapter, and currently serves as Secretary.
